i made this image several years ago, and even though the general idea stays the same, the anvil has represented numerous things. discernment, followed by the necessary action of severing myself from what would otherwise be holding me back. although it can be super tough, i think its a really important thing to do.

my friends drew and candis just had a little baby boy and i wanted to make something for the occasion.
and i gave drew the nickname sasquatch a while ago because i hardly ever see him, so of course i had to make a papa sasquatch.

kae and i decided that we wanted a stamp to use for invitations or other decorative items.
so, despite being apprehensive, i made my first hand carved stamp and it turned out pretty ok.
its also super encouraging for me to actually try and pursue my postcard chess stamps.

so, i started to think about my reasons for doing the 365 days of design project.
- get better at design
- challenge myself to keep finding design ideas i wanted to explore
- make some cool looking stuff
- because my friends jason and jack were doing it as well

and these are all fine reasons to take on a project like the 365 days of design.
but i started to get a bit worn out on these smaller pieces.
half an hour here. and hour there. im not a fan of limits.
where are the bigger/more challenging works that im interested in?
thats what ive been wanting to pursue, whatever that may look like.

that being said, unless my math is incorrect, i am 75 pieces short of 365.
and i dont really like leaving that unfinished.
so, i shall continue, but on my own terms.
